    Expert notes:
The paraiba is a recent find in the history of gemology. It was discovered in the middle of the 1980s in the Paraiba state of Brazil, hence the name. From the rarest blue seen in a stone until now, the deposit exhausts itself quite rapidly. The main production today is in Mozambique. Paraiba tourmalines of Brazil remain however the most sought-after stones. The one we are presenting to you today not only derives from this desired origin, but also from an intense saturated blue that is even more rare. This gem ticks all the boxes of a precious gemstones collection.

Rarer than rubies, the red spinel is one of the most resistant stones in which the color is entirely natural. Confused for centuries with the ruby, the latter’s value on the gemstones’ market has not stopped increasing. Famous spinels include the

    Expert notes:
In every auction, there is a remarkable stone. If there only had to be one, it would be this stone! A padparadscha of a color so vivid, so intense, so saturated; it is rare. In a gemologist’s lifetime, sapphires of this quality are less than the number of fingers on one hand. This padparadscha appears red, then a tender pink color adds itself to this primary red, to finally unveil an expression of bloody orange. Nature has decided. This color will be unique and well above all others. What a pleasure to be able to share this beautiful stone with Millon Belgique’s clients. It is very rare and it is really beautiful.

    Expert notes:
Close to the table, we can identify small inclusions conveying a black color on an inclined surface. It may probably be small (non-tested) protogenetic zircons surrounded by halos. The gemologic vocabulary seems hermetic, yet the explanation is simple. A spinel has formed itself in a conducive environment while small zircons were already present for several hundreds of millions of years. Two very distant geological eras are reunited in this stone, offering the result of an atypical and sought-after spinel.

    Dimensions : 9,44 x 9,32 x 7,90 mm.

    Expert notes:
The suspension of small natural zircons is already in place during the formation of the sapphire. Once the sapphire creates itself in the earth’s crust, it undergoes strong pressures and temperatures. The material forms itself around the zircons, provoking halos that we can perfectly recognize thanks to an instrument, the polarizing filter. Two very distant geological eras are reunited in this stone.

Bicolor Tourmaline of 6,86 ct., with a nice transparency. There is a concentration of salmon pink in the center with a few discreet lines verging on raspberry and diffusing a soft pale green color at the ends. Modified rectangular scissor-cut particulary well executed. Luminous stone with a soft luster. Discreet grainings.

    Expert notes:
In this tourmaline, two major colors come together, salmon and pale green. This is why the stone is considered bicolor. To be more precise, the lines with more intense colors navigate through the stone, making it multicolor. Indeed, the pale green, the darker green, the pink, the salmon, the raspberry lines coexist with delicacy following a tender and relatively symmetric distribution.
